Allie Bova inspired us all during the 2nd week of the Open! She has only been with us for a few months, but her accomplishments thus far are off the charts. During the 2nd week of the Open, she rocked her first set of pull-ups after a frustrating first attempt. She was high on the February Committed Club, and is continuing that trend into March. A few questions answered by Allie for us:
When and how did you get started with us? I started CrossFit in August of 2016. I was looking to try something different, rather than just running all the time, and Tony and Trish suggested I try CrossFit Peekskill out!
Favorite workout? Anything that involves running and wall balls, I love wall balls.
Least favorite workout? Anything that involves rowing!
Biggest accomplishment in CrossFit so far? In the last 6th months I’ve done a lot of new things, and lifted a lot of weight that I never thought I could lift. I consider everyday an accomplishment, even if the WOD kills me.
What is your go-to cheat meal? Phish food!
What is your current wallpaper on your cell phone? My dogs, Petunia and Ghost (duh!)
You can be any animal in the world, what animal would you be? I would be a Cheetah. They are fast, strong and BADASS.
What advice would you give someone just starting CrossFit? I would tell new comers to stick with it and not give up. Every WOD is challenging in a different way but your body will adjust to it and will start to amaze you sooner than you would imagine! If a workout sucks, shake it off, and come back the next day ready to try again!
