Athlete Spotlight Jackie Tino!!
Roll up to the gym at 4:30 in the morning. Who is sitting outside waiting? Jackie Tino? Running day? Burpees? Wall Balls? Toes to bar? A few of her least favorite things. Doesn’t matter. She’s here. Working her weaknesses any chance she can get and making herself not only a better athlete but a better human. Nothing shows this better then this years open performance!! She crushed every workout and even RXing 3 out of 5 workouts in arguably the hardest open yet!! I look forward to working with Jackie and continuing this path of success that she is on!! Keep it up girl!!
When and how did you get started with us?
I joined Crossfit Peekskill at the very end of August 2015. I was looking into switching boxes and I found CFP on Groupon. So incredibly thankful I bought it. The programming and the people are so amazing.
Favorite workout? Anything with the barbell!
I tend to like emoms more than anything else.
Least favorite workout?
This is a tough one. I really disliked 16 & 17.4 both times. Anything with wall balls is mentally challenging for me. But I’m always happy that I did them when it’s over.
Biggest accomplishment in CrossFit so far?
Probably RXing three out of the five 2017 open wods (not including the one with toes to bar—that doesn’t count). That was really cool because I challenged myself more than I usually do on a given day. It opened my eyes to do that every day I’m in the box and not hold myself back just because it’s going to be a little more suckier.
What is your go-to cheat meal?
I feel like most of my meals are considered cheat meals to normal people. But probably pizza and Indian food. And Buffalo wings, cookies, and curly fries
What is your favorite candy?
Aaaalll the chocolate.
What is your current wallpaper on your cell phone?
A picture of Mario and I when we were on vacation last summer.
You can be any animal in the world, what animal would you be?
A cat obviously. So I could sleep all day and make trouble at night and not be judged for it. Cats are life.
What advice would you give someone just starting CrossFit?
Please don’t compare yourself to anyone, ever. Everyone starts somewhere. We’re all on a different chapter in our fitness journeys! Be humble and supportive of your fellow athletes and have FUN!!! 🙂
