What is your favorite CrossFit Peekskill Memory?

My favorite CFP memory, hmmm, there are so many to choose from!  I would have to say when I got my first handstand push-up.  It was after a WOD and I just decided to try to do one, because the mat was out and I thought WHY NOT?!?!  I knocked out 10-15 right then and there when I couldn’t even do 1 the week prior.  Everybody started congratulating me and someone even took a video for me!  It was an amazing feeling doing something I hadn’t been able to do the week prior, but the fact that everybody else was just as excited for me as I was; that was a great feeling.  I love my CFP community!

What goal are you currently working towards?

My current long-term goal is to get a muscle up!  My short-term goal is to eat healthy which is my biggest struggle, so I take that day by day and make  sure I don’t get discouraged by one bad meal.

Any advice for people just getting started or new to CrossFit?

There will always be a million reasons not to start.  So to whoever you are out there, you just have to do it.  We will welcome you with open arms and be more than excited to work out along side you.  You don’t have to be more fit or stronger or thinner or more anything before you join; just join!  There will be other beginners and you will get to know people and make friends.  CrossFit Peekskill is a very welcoming place and has a great community of people.

But the most important advice I can give is to just HAVE FUN!!

What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health, and fitness since starting CrossFit Peekskill?

Where do I even begin?!?!  Before starting CFP I hadn’t worked out for 3 years.  I have serious knee issues and there is a lot I can’t do, but the CFP staff modified things for me when needed and encouraged me throughout my journey.  I now have muscles I didn’t even know existed and feel great mentally and physically.  At the beginning I would mentally give up on myself when workouts were too tough.  Now I am able to mentally push myself through even the hardest of workouts.  I have never felt better and I feel like I can take on anything inside and outside the gym.
